Saw Josh Ritter on Monday

It was a good show. Here's a link to a review with a streaming track from his latest album that I really like called "Thin Blue Flame."

Bush Speaks (Keith)

Good post.

I saw much of President Bush's speech at the NAACP annual convention today. It was fairly interesting. There was polite and spattered applause throughout the speech, but the loudest and longest applause was when he spoke about the Voting Rights Act; 'I look forward to the Senate passing this bill promptly, without amendment, so I can sign it into law.' Recording a "real" CD! -- vote for your favorite songs

My former landlord owns a recording studio in Chapel Hill. As I mentioned at the time, I helped him out with some web work. He agreed to give me some recording time in exchange. We hope to do that later this month.

So, I need to figure out what songs to record. That's where you come in. I'd like your thoughts on what songs I should prioritize on recording. I don't really know how many I'll have time for and I may pay for more time later. I was thinking it'd be nice to get at least 4 tracks.

You can see a list that includes most of my better songs on my music page. Please let me know what you think in the comments section of this post and thanks in advance for the feedback.

The Postmodern Dyslexicon

A friend's annonymous project.

A (self-conscious) new compendium of haughty neologisms and catchphrases that illustrate the postmodern condition. It is sarcastic and meant to be a mockery of itself, hipness, and ridiculously postmodern people, so don't get your panties in a wad, boys and girls.

And many Alaskans grew sad and ashamed

27B Stroke 6 post from last month with a long quotation from Sen. Stevens about Net Neutrality ("the internet is a series of tubes"). They follow up with this funny bit of satire. Best of all is this post by a guy who made a power point presentation of the tube part of the speech.

Having been raised there I take some interest in what goes on in the circus of Alaskan politicians.
