quick update
Life is pretty crazy busy at the moment, but I'm sure doesn't compare to having a kid.
Anyhow, the big news for me is
(1) I failed the game theory portion of my methods comp and the final decision on the exam is pending. I'll do a new game theory problem on Thursday. Hopefully I'll do well on it because
(2) I'm Spending spring semester in Havana! Apologies for not cross-posting that sooner, since it really belongs on both blogs. [NOTE 12/30/08: This used to link to a post on my other blog about what I'd be doing in Cuba. I've deleted that blog, hence the link no longer worked.]
(3) Other good news is that I had a paper accepted to the Latin American Studies Association conference in Rio this coming June. So that will be both fun and an important opportunity professionally.
(4) Not so fun is having a stack of grading, studying for the game theory question and a grant application all coincide... But that's life and I'm so lucky to do something I like for a living.
(5) My dad will be coming to visit a week from Thursday. He's never seen where I live so that will be really nice.
